Thank you to everyone who has donated support to Bedford Foodbank through the past year, and particularly in December. This has been schools, local businesses, churches, Bedford Blues, Rotary Club, Masonic Lodges, and many, many families and local community groups throughout Bedford. Thank you also to all the supermarket customers who have donated into the collection baskets at Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Morrisons, Waitrose and Lidl (Kempston). All donations are welcome – either food and toiletries or financial gifts by cheque, bank transfer or Paypal (see ‘Give Help’). We are busy sorting through these donations in order to refill our shelves with the items we are running short of.
All these donations will be put to good use – we are seeing record levels of demand with 556 vouchers issued in December, feeding 1,299 people (489 of them children). Very high numbers, but at least we are able to provide some food and comfort.
