Our Christmas Challenge appeal closed on Christmas Day. We’d set the target as £7433 because we fed 7433 people in one year (to the end of August 2019). So, we were hoping to raise the same number of pounds as the number of people we fed.
In fact, the grand total for the Christmas Challenge came to a staggering £14,341 – almost double the target!
We’d like to offer our sincere and profound thanks to everyone who contributed.
We had a number of very generous donations, too, from local businesses: from M&DH Insurance, St James’s Place Wealth Management, Sharnbrook Learning for Pleasure, Compass Land and Property, and Aeromark.
Our next major fundraiser is our annual Doctor Who convention, Bedford Who Charity Con 6, which is being held on Saturday 4th April at the University. Last year’s raised more than £8000 and we’re looking for business sponsorship for this one! If any businesses would be interested in supporting the event, we’d be very grateful; please get in touch with our trustee Simon Danes, who is the convention’s organiser; he can be reached on [email protected] All business sponsorship will go direct to the Foodbank; it won’t be used to offset the event’s costs.
